DIARY OF EDMUND

August 6, 1912

It is wonderful that mother is coming home.  I hope this time she will not go back to her dope.  My caugh has me fealing very ill at times.  I woke up this morning with a heavy chest, but this evening I fealt better.  I hope it is not the malarial fever returning.  I spent the early evening walking up and down the beach.  I tried with persistance to talk to the girls there, yet they resisted every aproach.   As the girls resisted and the evening persited I fled to the local pub to find Jamie.  His tumultuous mood had resulted in yet another night  of libations.  As I had the funds to join the dissapation I found myself joyfully intoxicated before too late.  I left for home before I lost the congintive ablity to distingish where that might be.  I did not want the type of girl that Jamie was pursuring at the moment.  Maybe tomorrow night.  But now as the alcohol is waning and the caugh is persiting I shall try and relax so that sleep may ensue.
